Microsoft RSU Pricing vs Start date?

Will be joining Msft soon and was wondering how they determine # of shares issued base on new hire RSU value promised. Obviously it's RSU/price but how do they determine price?

Is it just based on the month you join? Or do they do a last 2 month average?

MSFT number of stocks are paid fixed in amount, quantity is not fixed. Price is determined on the day of grant, whenever that is. For hiring, bonuses, ESPP.

This answer is ambiguous and doesn't conflict with my initial assumptions

The price is based in day of award, in this case your day of joining. That was my India experience (worked there for 5 years), check with MSFT if the price is day of first pay.

So, no averages, price on the day of grant

It’s based on stock price on the next allocation date after your joining (which is typically 15th of the next month)

I see, but isn't using the price based on a single day a bit risky? Especially if market volatile?

I am just stating the policy part. May be they consider - it’ll balance out in long term.
