I have received the following offer from Microsoft Seattle Profile : MS-CS from top 20 CS schools. 3 years work exp. Base : 148 k Joining Bonus : 20 K (Year 1) + 20 K (Year 2) Relocation : 6k Stocks : $125 k / 4 years - > $ 31.5 k per year Annual Bonus : Upto 20 % 4o1k : 10k immediately vesting. Other Standard Microsoft benefits. Total MSFT TC : $ 225 K -> 148 base + 20 bonus + 32k stocks + 10k 4o1k + 15k (assuming 10% annual bonus) I guess my question is : Is there any room for negotiation ? If yes, which component should I request an increase in ? Also, What is the average annual bonus that i can target at Microsoft ? PS : The recruiter came up with a base line offer which i rejected, this (according to her) is the final offer. My other Offer : Oracle : Base 155 Sign on : 10k relo : 10k Stocks : 85k per year [Vesting annually] - I believe that this is too much risk. MSFT vesting schedule changes to quarterly after the first year. Total Oracle TC : $ 250 k I also have onsite interviews scheduled at Amazon, Twitter Facebook spread across the next month and Microsoft offer expires in 2 weeks - What should i do ? Current TC : 180 in San Jose
Congratulations man you're crushing
Amazon and FB will offer more if you make it through the interviews.
I’ve never heard of on-hire stock vesting to be quarterly. Performance bonus stocks are vested quarterly but not on-hire stocks. Can you confirm this with your recruiter or hiring manager?
25% at the end of first year. Quarterly thereafter
Are you interviewing with fb for generalist software engineer as E4?
There is room for stocks and signing. At least 150k stocks. Signing can be increased to 50k. Base is nice enough already.
Is it OCI?
Yes, OCI
From MSFT perspective, you're getting a very good base for L62. There's a little wiggle room for the other numbers, but not much. As much as we would love to have you contribute to our growth, I'd say, don't constrain yourself with Microsoft if you're getting other interviews. You'll get more and do better elsewhere.
