Bongzilla Jan 8, 2019Sales engineer role. Base + commission and other comp based on numbers. You’re partnered with a sales guy to sell a set of products to a given market/vertical - could be a demo, POC or whatever to close a sale.
Thanks, so from a career progression/salary perspective do you think it’s competitive to other S/W dev positions ? I’m thinking 5yrs down the line

Bongzilla Jan 8, 2019It can be, it depends on what you’re selling and who you’re selling it to. You can definitely compete with and exceed sw and dev positions, but ultimately earnings are somewhat out of your control as the the sales person needs to close deals and use technical resources appropriately.
Essentially a Sales Engineer on an MS account team. Each TSP specializes in a specific MS product or technology supporting the Account Exec, ATS, and other members of the account team.
