How did you get 240K as L60. What is the breakdown?

Microsoft Soporific Jul 29, 2019

Yeah, seems dubious. Op, what's your split?

Vacation will accrue each pay period. I believe it's 5 hours every pay period. Sick time will be given all at once each year.

Is it flexible though? I suppose everyone just go talk with the manager and not report it online?

Microsoft 🌲fiddy Jul 29, 2019

If you take vacation, it would be unethical not to report the hours in the tool. Not saying that people don't do that, however.

Dude, you never report vacation at MS, don’t you know? Just take a reasonable amount and tell your manager when you’re absent. There’s a culture of ignoring the vacation tool, no one ever checks it.

not sure if that is true or not

Facebook Instаgrаm Jul 29, 2019

Trust me, it’s true. Same at G, btw. At FB it’s harder since vacation tracking is embedded into your calendar very tightly and everyone sees your status everyday.

Basically any company with vacation assigns you some number of hours per paycheck, where after 24 paychecks (or 26 if biweekly) you end up with whatever number of days the benefits package says you get per year.
