Interview will be held in Redmond for an engineering position. What’s the appropriate attire for the interview?
Medium length is fine, the dress should cover thighs
Avoid shorts or graphic Tshirts but other than that no one really cares
Top hat, Monacle, jeans shorts, cane, and wife beater. Be distinctive. Be proud! 👍
Sigh... some people just won’t listen to reason
I wore a hoodie with my hood up, snapback, and like skinny chinos during the interviews and got an offer so doesn’t really matter
You wore your hood over your head? Interesting outfit
It was chilly
Thanks everyone!
Business casual
Business casual can be interpreted in many ways. Specifics..
Superman attire
Underwear on the outside?
Exactly
Clothes. Definitely wear clothes.
Winner’s choice
Stained Visual Studio 2008 t-shirt. Instant offer.
Can't believe the answers here. Of course the attire is not the most important factor, but it does signal something to the interviewer and is key in the first impression. In general, it depends on the seniority and type of the position (e.g., dev new grad vs principal PM). Business casual is always a preferable choice
If they’re judging you based on what you wear you don’t wanna work there anyways. As long as you’re dressed appropriately to be in public I think it doesn’t matter. If you kill the interview but they reject you based on what you wore that’s a shitty culture
See the part: "of course the attire is not the most important factor". If you're applying for a more public-facing role (like PM) or an executive position, the way you present yourself matters - and attire is just one of the factors. So are public speaking skills for example.

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
Jeans and a button down shirt. Don’t wear a suit or anything, nobody dresses like that here.
Button down is overkill unless that’s what you feel comfortable in
@Mglr74: Did you just assume the gender of OP?
