I disagree. It completely depends on your team and manager. I work in a team at Microsoft where wlb is completely messed up. I’ve seen many teams like that. On the contrary, I’ve seen friends at amazon who have better wlb. Hard to generalize at a company level.

Anyway for your YOE, you should ask for more RSUs or more sign-on bonus. Whichever substitutes the difference. Shouldn't it be more than 100k in RSUs?

This is a good offer for L61. The total tc will work out to 180k or so. You aren't going to get a better offer except at G or F.

Also note that ms does give a 10% bonus every year just to show up and more to actually work. While Amazon looks like a lot of money but work and uncertainty is not worth it!

Other things to consider is espp and 9k 401 matching. I came to amazon from ms and now m returning after being fired in about 6 months without any feedback or review cycle.

Definitely consider this risk esp if you're on a visa

Did things not align with your manager? You would have a decent idea of what wrong?

After promotion and good perfs, probably the TC outgrows other comps after year 4

I had good feedback and I actually delivered two small projects then asked for a leave to get married. This was agreed upon once I got back by manager put me on PIP

How do you have 75k rsu vesting at 25k each year for 4 years?
    Mar 28 3
    • Microsoft NatySadela
As strange it may sound to you, we vest 25% every year and not just at end of year. It's basically 6.25 percent every quarter. Shocked!!

    • Amazon Fprs52
Well that kicks in only after the first year!

Level 62 I’m assuming. Which is highest for SDE II. It’s a good offer. Take it.

pretty good base and sign on for l61. I don't know of there's room to budge on stocks but it is pretty standard for an industry hire. I'd probably take it but you may have room if you have a competing offer.
