Considering same comp and similar team which company is better to join in long run? Can somebody who worked at both places provide pros/cons and guidance? Thanks in advance. TC: 0
Most folks will agree if you want to have a longer tenure, it will be at Microsoft. people burn out at Amazon pretty quickly. If you're a new grad I feel your stock and first couple years of income would be better at MS, Amazon's vesting schedule takes advantage of the fact that most people won't be around to collect their stock vests. Learning experience lean towards Amazon, but it depends on how long you can keep up.
Microsoft.
Outa college and wanna stackup some cool skill sets and don’t mind working late hours —> drive downtown Seattle. Been in the industry for a while, you like a good wlb and still want a handsome paycheck—> drive eastside to redmond
Both companies are so big, you would need to narrow it down to individual teams. You can have very smart colleagues in both places, work long hours in both, and work on interesting challenges in both. At least for MSFT, you should vaguely know which team you'll join before signing, so that info might be more useful than "Microsott vs Amazon"
Microsoft
What teams specifically in both companies??
True. Depend on the team / org
Amazon for early career.. then move to MSFT
Microsoft. I thought I would do Amazon , just declined their offer. IMO not worth it to move to Amazon especially if MICROSOFT keeps up the SSA
If they want to keep retaining who they got to stay with this review round, I would expect the stock grant ranges to increase by a large amount. Otherwise it was a fruitless exercise for FY 2018.

How long is your run going to be ? I have consulted for both, my current recommendation is Microsoft. Enterprise Sales is their speciality and Azure is real.
