Microsoft surface

I am looking to buy surface mainly for coding / VPN to work, maybe. I am not sure which one to get or use cases for each below. Looking for some insights I am also considering reimagining the surface to some linux distro

They suck, trust me, I owned a couple of them before. Stick to business class laptops from Lenovo, Dell, or HP.

I've used one for my main development setup for a couple of years and they're great. My previous laptop was a Lenovo and the one before that was an hp. Both giant pieces of shit.

Great as a portable and super lightweight device, owned a Pro 3. After some time of using it with MSIT Group Policies, full of crap, it became incredibly slow. The device is good.

There should be an option called Surface No!

I currently have a surface book 2 I use for my primary development machine. My son has the surface laptop and i really like the keyboard on those. I borrowed it for a bit to do some word stuff. His wouldnt be anywhere beefy enough to do serious development but they have beefier ones. As far as the OS, I had the original it image on it, where the VPN was broken, it was slow and blue screened once a week. I changed to the iso and ad joined and have had no problems since.
