Does anyone who got offer from Microsoft to LinkedIn transfer have sign on? Recently got a offer from LinkedIn, the recruiter told me that Microsoft employee can not get sign on. Is this true? If not, how much usually is it?
That's what I heard too. No sign on bonus for such transfers.
Then what is the point of the whole external interviewing loop??? Sign on is big part of it
OP mind sharing your comp bump? Looking for some direction here.
That's BS.. I moved from MSFT to LNKD.. got a 50k sign on...
I ended up leaving LNKD after 9 months though - I was pretty miserable
When did you get that offer?
Nope not true, friend just moved and is getting a pretty big sign-on

Use LinkedIn to find out 😉. Search for LinkedIn employees, find one who's job history shows Microsoft > LinkedIn after the acquisition date, then message them and ask. However, it seems logical that they wouldn't do sign-on bonuses because Microsoft owns LinkedIn. You could probably negotiate for a level bump or pay raise though.
