Recently, for many products that I’ve seen on Amazon the reviews are “gamed” and invalid. In many cases I see reviews with similar incorrect grammar from different user names, or digging into more reviews for a product I find many reviews are for a totally different product. For example, look at the VR headset by “VR wear”. $29.95 today with 5/5 stars. But if you dig into the reviews many are for a food item “taste is not great I mix it with just about anything” and “it’s so cute” etc. This is not the first time I’ve been misled by reviews, iPhone headphones and iPhone headphone+charger combos are notorious for such reviews. Why is Amazon not offering an easy way to report reviews for being invalid for the product. I only see a report for “inappropriate reviews”, but this seems to be a case of review spoofing by using the same ASIN or product code for different products and moving products around using the same ID once they accumulate decent reviews. It’s annoying and is making me to stop using Amazon now.
Gave up prime 2 years ago and no regrets since I never need a shipment the next day. All the 5 star reviews are so shamelessly rigged you can see the pattern. Amazon is turning a blind eye on this.
Link or I won't believe?
Pick any product that isn’t from a well known brand - baby toys, headphones, kitchen utensils (cups etc) have invalid reviews in almost all items - but in some cases you have to scroll through two pages of reviews. Then it’s hits you and you see the patterns of same reviews keywords repeating. Even bad grammar or spelling mistakes repeat as-is as you scroll through product reviews. Annoying.
What did you expect from a $30 VR headset when even the low end legitimate sets are $300+? This one is entirely on you.
Haha, I would disagree because I expect legit/quality products even for a lesser price. Just a higher price shouldn’t make a product more legit.
When something is literally an order of magnitude cheaper than the rest of the market, you don't have to buy it to know it's crap.

I stopped using Amazon for the same reason.
