Rentec has just one vote, like most polls people don't know what are they even voting for, SMH. Edit: Golden Sachs, lmao
Maybe I should've spelled it out as Renaissance Technologies, or abbreviated the rest like 2s, Bain, GS, HRT, JPM, JSC, McK, MS.
Yeah unless you worked in the finance world or closely follow Wall Street, people would not have heard about that acronym. Just assume that is No 1, remove Goldman and you'll have your list
Rentec with two — blind is blind outside of tech.
There’s too much secrecy behind the financials of firms to know who’s really killing it and who isn’t. That and the pay band at most trading firms is insanely insanely wide.
Not really. People know each other and talk. If you are with one if them you will have b-school buddies in most of the others.
You can know generally how well your firm does on a year by year basis and you can know exactly how well your desk does, but for the whole picture where all streams of revenue are taken into consideration (MM, arb, retail order flow, etc etc) really only extremely senior people will know. DRW probably had a better 2017 than the likes of JS and HRT but no one can know for sure, and most people wouldn’t think DRW is more “prestigious” than them. As for basing speculation on talent, that’s kinda tough too because you have very talented people from firms with very strong historic performance taking management positions at mediocre trading businesses pretty often.
pwc? For real????
Apologies in advance if your favorite XYZ company didn't make it into the elitism rankings.
