Mothers of tech, what do you do with your kids?

How do you work full time? What kind of support do (don’t) you get from spouse? Who watches the kids during the day?

    As a father, I'm offended.
Why do you think the answer would be different for fathers in tech? What part of any of this is specific to mothers?

Maybe u r a father who has an equal share in household chores and kids. Trust me thats not the case in many households where both parents are working full time.

The part that most men don't share equal responsibility of the household/kids.

It is specific to mothers because it is posted in “Women in tech” forum. Maybe I will ask Fathers in “Men in tech” forum tomorrow 💁🏽‍♀️

My toddler goes to preschool/Montessori (8-6). My spouse and I share equal chores outside of our tech work. While I cook and do the dishes my spouse unloads the dishes, takes care of the feeding. I do the bath time routine and my spouse does the bedtime routine. We don’t follow the same routine on who does what but we do share the work load without me asking my spouse for help or vice versa.

My kid is in daycare 7:30-6. My husband and I share all chores and childcare equally. We trade off pickup and drop off. We trade off bedtime. He cleans the kitchen more often, but I handle taxes, retirement planning, trust documents, etc. We have a housekeeper come every other week to do floors, bathroom, and dusting.

I hope you didn’t have to be in day care that long. That’s worst than working a bad job.

Husband works at home and does activities with LO. I take over when I get home. I cook and do the bed time routine because I want to but sometimes my husband does it. We share the workload

We adjusted our lives once the little one came along. Trial and error. Nothing is easy. I’m sure we’ll continue to adjust as time goes by

0-4 months I took the maternity leave. 5-8 months, my husband took paternity leave. 9-11 months my husband’s parents. 12th months vacation. After 1st birthday, family care 9am-6pm till now (he’s 22 months). After work, my husband and I share the workload. Grandparents help us with cooking, laundry or picking kid up from family care when they are here.
