I had a baby recently and I start thinking about moving to a more affordable and family-friendly city. Do you have any recommended city within the US?
Chicago if you can handle snow and wind and love a true city with midwestern politeness Denver if you love the outdoors
Maybe Austin. But it really depends on what your skills are and industry is, and what you want to do. For eg, if you are in Software, going to Columbus OH will kill your career, but you can lead a happy life outside career.
why not North West NJ and work from home or commute.. houses are quite affordable.. if you are willing to commute 1hr
It’s really disgusting over there though.
Places like Mountain Lake.. Montville.. Kinnelon.. Randolph.. Mendham are absolutely beautiful.. and very family friendly.. unlike the chromium waste land called Jersey City and Bergen County closer to NYC
Move to Connecticut and commute? Otherwise Austin and Seattle seem pretty great.
Just don’t come to the Bay Area. At that avoid South Bay like wildfire. I care about your baby
Thought more families lived in South Bay?
People live in a bubble here in the Bay Area. Everything is catered around tech bros and their families. If one cares about the families and kid’s overall development then I’d say it’s best to stay out of the bubble
Charlotte, NC
Have few friends that recommended Austin.
