Moving from PM to Technical

Looks like Program Manager isn’t a good fit with my personality. I don’t like being a bad guy keep chasing people and micro manage them. I’ve been PM for 3 yrs, delivered good impact, but i really want to get hands on. I do love manage a team or a product I own though. Thinking of going back to technical and learn to be ds or swe then move to management. Should I? YOE 3. TC 170
