Thoughts on Amazon Offer?
Has anyone made the move from USA to India. I'm getting a good offer in terms of compensation. Total comp (inc. bonus) - 50+15 lakhs (don't care about stock) YoE - 6 yrs Company - can't share yet but it's a startup whuch has raised $200 mn recently I'm worried about adjusting to work culture in India as I've heard culture is not so great and managers are shitty with bad wlb and shitty professionalism Let me know thoughts
I had great managers in India, so much better than the ones I work/have worked with here. Can't generalize, it's luck.
US is worst than india in terms of work life balance
C'mon I work like 8 to 6 and worst I did was 8 to 8.
Wtf. That’s so good salary !! Please tell which company. Please DM
I said I can't. Sorry. I got in through a close friend and mentor who is very senior and believes in me. Hence was able to get it.
Get your I140 approved. So if the India thing doesn’t work out you can come back on H1 I would take the job because it’s increasingly looking like India is where the growth is for tech outside the US
I'm on L1
On side note, $200 mn dollars is like entire budget of Indian government to help startups in India with fundings
SoftBank and other VCS fund lots of startups .Doesnt matter if the Indian govt has 200million or 2 million
WLB is pretty great in Indian firms. You get more time to do things you want as all the chores are either automated or out sourced. Everything is on demand and can be delivered or done right from your house. So that frees up a lot of time. Traffic is a problem but you can choose to live closer to your place of work. With that kinda pay you will end up saving at least 70%, much more than you will save in US. I would move back if I were in your place.
What's your TC in Uber?
I have seen shitty Indian managers in FANG also
Okay. Being more explicit I'm worried about wlb going for a toss. I'm fine working hard. But hate working on weekends, managers randomly reaching out after hours. Just crappy professionalism.
True story.
