I recently started a post MBA Investment Analyst role at a mutual fund. What's the salary and bonus progression like? I know it's not as fast as IB and HF and can't get any recent data. Current TC (including bonus) - $200K
Interesting
What's IB and HF?
Investment banking? And H... Finance?
Interactive brokers and high frequency or hedge fund?
Wow that’s a lot. Probably 30% more than our company investment professionals in your level.
Thought BlackRock pays the highest given its massive AUM and fee pool.
Thanks for thinking this way :D we do have massive ETFs
Well, your base and bonus are good for a larger firm. I think that if you want to make the big bucks you've got to move to more boutique shops. Mine manages about $1-10 billion and I get a share of the revenue. So, as an analyst, you can take in $1-2M, if you raise assets in your fund. Right now, I am getting $125K base, plus up to 100% of base in performance bonus, along with a decent percentage of revenue of AUM.
I have about 8 years of work experience, and I recently completed my MBA. Experience is a combination of operations at startups, VC work, and of course public equities investing.
Good to know - thanks!
Not to be a dick, but aren't these things you should have considered prior to taking an offer? Where did you get your MBA from?
Yes, I should have, but I didn't and thus asking the question now. I got an MBA from a top 10 business school in the US.
Which one
