I'm an SRE and my company is looking to hire some backend developers and I have about 30 in my Facebook and LinkedIn contacts. I'm not really sure what a good way to approach people that my company would be interested in interviewing them. Any advice?
True that. I mark emails as spam if - they are not addressed to me - the recruiter didn't know my profile but randomly says I am a good fit - doesn't show any interest to talk to me And "Dear Candidate" doesn't end on my nice side. Whenever I see such an email, I try to sell a home that is being auctioned.

#1 Don't send an email that looks like a form email that you sent to a bazillion other people. #2 If you know their LinkedIn or have a resume on file, then remark about what on their profile you feel makes them a good fit, and don't be generic about it. The goal here is to be genuine and to let them know that you give a shit enough to actually read about what they are good at. Too many times I get "You're a great fit are you interested in <position open>?" but when I look at the position I cant see how in the world they ever thought I'd be interested or qualified.
I've worked with about 2/3rds of them. I probably have outdated resumes for about a third of them. (A fair amount of overlap)
Then strike up a conversation, ask if they remember working on a past project with you. Then ask what they are doing now and be like "Thats cool, I've made a few moves myself, now I'm working at <blank> as a <blank>. And we're growing way faster than we can get people onboard."
