I applied to JUUL for an entry level program manager position and didn't even get a phone interview. Am I not as qualified as I think I am? Or is there something else I'm missing?
Your resume is very bad.
That is definitely not a resume that will get you any calls. Use a simple Word theme.
Thanks for the advice, I will change it. The good news is I have only submitted this to a few places. The funny thing is, I have heard back from 2 start ups that both said they really liked the resume. I guess know which audience to submit which resume too.
I like the layout. However, the content is atrocious. Every word needs to be there for a reason and every accomplishment should be spelled out. For example, what does the word "Hello" do for you?
Terrible resume. The amount of space you have allocated to actual content about your work experiences is like 25%... and even your descriptions don’t give meaningful details about your individual responsibilities and accomplishments
Automatic resume scanners may not parse your resume correctly, due to the design. I would also suggest modifying your accomplishments at each job using the STAR method.
So much this. You've got 10+ years of experience, but your resume shows none of it. What did you specifically do? How was it impactful?
Could you explain on this further. First time I'm actually having to submit a resume in 10 years. This is huge for me.
Why would you want to join JUUL? What is it that excites you about their product?
i'm indifferent to the ecig issue, and I don't smoke. But from the outside looking in, they seem organized and well managed. They appear to put a lot of emphasis on product development, especially design. Also i'd like to work on something with +1M quantities every month.
Ah, the indifference. In other words, fuck you all as long as I am getting paid.
Change your resume first.
I think you could add more to your achievements so far at workplaces and add as the first page of your resume.
Were you a Principle or Principal? 😂🤔
Summary on your resume? What did you graduate in 2003 or something? All you have to say about your start up is that it grew to 10 employees and had some customers? What about real financial metrics?

There are a lot of reasons why you mightn't hear back that have nothing to do with you. I'd not jump to that conclusion. Resumes are inherently limited. Build a professional network. It takes work to create and maintain but it's how people actually get jobs.
