My stomach hurts, no matter what I eat

Jan 31 67 Comments

I have been facing this weird thing for a few days now, where I am experiencing upper abdominal pain (mainly in the center of the diaphragm right below the rib cage, which sometimes extends to the entire upper abdominal area). The pain subsides when I eat something, but starts again after an hour or two. It doesn't matter what I eat. Having green tea helps temporarily (not sure if this relates to my previous point about no pain after I eat something). The pain is not unbearable, but it does cause a lot of discomfort.

Anyone experienced this before? I have a doctor's appointment for next week but want to check if anyone has been through this.

I do not have any food allergies (none that I am aware of), I don't drink or smoke.

Could be a stomach ulcer, could also be acid reflux. I suggest going to a doctor op. Try taking tums or some acid reflux pills

I tried mint pearls, they helped temporarily. Also, acid reflux is caused by certain kind of foods. So ulcers seem a more probable scenario.

Acid reflux can happen anytime. You don't always need to eat a specific food item to trigger it.

      Also go to a doctor!

Acid reflux and ulcers are often caused by the same Helicobacter pylori. It feeds on carbs and can cause a range of gastro symptoms

This is what I had. Antibiotics plus some other pill fixed it in a couple of days. If left untreated it causes ulcers.

What's the reason and how do you cure them?

I started getting this when I am hungry. I fixed by just eating when I'm hungry
    Jan 312
    • OP
Hunger pangs are different. They happen when you haven't had food in a few hours. But my stomach doesn't hurt for one hour after every meal. Rest of the time it hurts.

Surgery. Gallbladder removal. They should have scheduled it ASAP upon diagnosis

    • OP
      Is that the only option?

Yes, they should have talked to you about that today.

They gave me a medicine for now, and performed a blood test. They'll tell me the next steps once the report is out.

Directly above the bellybutton? That’s your large intestine and likely just gas.

Slightly to the left or below your first rib? That’s where your stomach is and likely just heartburn.

Anyway, we’re not doctors here. Go see a real doctor.
    Jan 316
    • Oath zxzxx
Oh yea, heartburn is caused by imbalance in your microbiome. Your doctor may prescribe antibiotics.
      Jan 31
    • OP
Yes, above the bellybutton in the center but also extends towards the love handles sometimes with low intensity. Do ulcers cause gas as well?

I have an appointment scheduled already. But wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar experience and has any suggestions to offer.

That does not sound like stomach ulcer. Your stomach is not your intestines or round where your kidneys are
      Jan 31
    • Microsoft whyphucka
If your doctor is prescribing antibiotics to correct heartburn or balance your microbiome you need to get a new doctor and report that one. Antibiotics will make your microbiome worse not better. But what do you expect asking for health advice on Blind?

Don’t wait for the next week. If I were you, I would go to urgent care today. If your appointment is with primary dr, you wont know anything anyway. (S)he is going to refer you a specialist.
