Used to exotic tools like source in sight and araxis Merge. Now working for a smaller company, so don't want to drain their resources. Looking for some free/open source editor(cross referencing/indexing is very important) and merge tool with decent GUI. Going back to VIM and ctags just like college is an option too, but would love some GUI. I see a lot of options but looking for some suggestions from people here.
P4merge is ok and free
Diffmerge.
Which language?
P4merge works the best. I've used meld and intellij tools as well. I like p4merge. Free to download, easy to configure
Does it do directory comparisons?
Possibly. Never tried the directory though
I have used Meld on Ubuntu. Works pretty good as a diff tool. Although thh, araxis has spoiled us :-)
True. That's what I am thinking to use. What's your source code editor?
I am actually used to SlickEdit. They have one for Linux but it costs money
