Need a personal loan

Hi All, I am a Software Engineer and have been working full time for an year now. I have a student loan at very high interest of over $35k and would like to pay it off ASAP. Could you please suggest where and how can I get a personal loan in US? Visa status - H1B

Loan to pay your debt? What are you the US government?

Yes, because I got my student loan at a high interest without collateral.

TC? What is the loan remaining and APR?

Get several 0 APR credit cards. Use them for all your expenses including rent payment. Pay student loan with the money saved. Typically the 0 APR offer last for 1 year or more. By that time you should have saved up 35K and paid off your balance.

Other options - take a 401k loan and pay interest - but interest payments go back to you and are typically lower than credit card

1 YOE likely has little 401k balance

Apply credit cards that offer 12-18months 0% apr on balance transfers & pay it off!!

Don’t worry about interest rates. $35K is a pittance for the kind of money you should be making. Cut your expenses to the bone and just pay it off.

SoFi can help you refinance student loans. I got my 10-9% loans refinanced to 6% with basically no hassle

I tried Sofi and even got a personal loan. However, due to my stupidity, they found out that I am going to use these funds to pay my student loan. Hence, they rescinded the loan.

I was in your position few years ago and did a combination of personal loan from credit union and 0% APR from credit card to pay off my loan entirely in just few months..

eBay cutter OP Mar 12, 2019

Yes it's exactly my situation. The Indian bank APR is 16%. Which credit union did you apply for?

Hi, I came across a tech company today that others may find useful. It's called Small Business Capital, and they seem to offer personal loans and startup loans. I don't know if this is only for a specific country, but my first thought it's probably for Canada and United States. I'm sure you can find more information on their website: https://smallbusinesscapital.co Hope it helps!
