Need advice for Google iOS Engineer technical phone interview

I have Google technical phone interview in few weeks. What to expect from interviewer in iOS and coding questions? Can I use Python for coding questions? I have practiced coding questions in Python so far. @YOE - 3

Serious question - why not practice in swift? Most online judges accept swift now.

There’s no way they’ll let you use Python. Use Objective-C or Swift or TC AND GTFO

If you want a generalist SWE role, you can use Python. If you want iOS, it needs to be Swift or ObjC. 90+% choose Swift. Swift is actually a pretty good language for interviews, not too verbose and sone useful standard APIs, although Strings operations are a shitshow.

One of the exact reasons I still chose Python for my coding interviews. Android SWE. Kotlin (just like Swift) is a beautiful language, but Python is so much more expressive in terms of doing [::-1] and string operations. Do you know of any interviewers who frown upon people using other languages than their domain lang for Algo / DS rounds?

Me. My python is terrible and if you use it in an interview it makes it hard for me to assess. Also, it tells me nothing about your ObjC/Swift skills. iOS interviews are not general SWE interviews.

Python? Are you sure you’re interviewing for iOS engineer position? iOS interview is not just about LeetCode.

My interview is scheduled for iOS Engineer position but I use Python for Leetcode and HackerRank. I don’t know much about Google iOS engineer hiring process.

I just did one. If it’s iOS, don’t use python. You are not interviewing for a generalist. LeetCode is not that important.

Recently got an offer from Google. Applied for Android SWE. Your choice of language doesn't matter, as long as you use Swift / ObjC to write code for the iOS interviews lol. I did my Algo / DS interviews in Python, the interviewers did not mind.

I’m interested in this position. Any insight on the android specific interview prep?
