Hello Folks,

I am new to the Blind community. I am looking to move to bay area but i am having hard time getting interview calls. Maybe HR perceive that i am a consultant. Though i work for consulting firm, I work as a data engineer.
Skillset - Python, Spark SQL, HIVE, SQL, SQOOP and have worked on Azure and GCP.
Relevant WOE - 2 years, Total 5 years.
MS in BA
Though i am not a ninja coder( DS & Algo ) but i have worked on python and Spark entire time and i am getting better. Written and deployed production level code.

Thank You

Reality of tech jobs right now- It's okay if you are not a skilled coder or get no work done but you need to be a skilled leetcoder. #TechIsDoomed

If you're not a skilled coder, things are going to be hard for you. For people to want to refer you, they'll want to be bringing a skilled coder to their company.

since i am working as a data engineer, i have never come across a single problem where we have applied data structures or algo on our use cases. We tend to think about scalability and robustness. But yeah you are right (i am not being sarcastic) since i feel the first check even for a DE position is to have strong DS and algo.
