Planning to change my work to home commute from a walk ( 1.5 miles ) to a run. Not sure how to carry my huge purse & formal clothes while I run ...

Want to know what some beat hacks female runners use ?

This is not reddit and there is an informal community culture about TC on Blind. You telling me to stfu is very rude and entitled. I’m triggered and I feel bullied by you now. 🤷🏿‍♀️🧟‍♂️

Running long distances like that can cause your body to lose nutrients. Make sure to fuel up with a protein shake before run. I recommend 3 bananas, 6 egg whites, 2 scoops of Serious Mass from Optimum Nutrition.

Heels are useful in maintaining proper form. If you can’t manage at least 8”, what’s the point? At least that’s what my wife said.

In terms of workout gear lululemon is the best. 90% of women who buy yoga pants aren’t doing yoga. 100% of men are fine with that.

To lose extra calories, you can put weights in your backpack. Start with an extra 25 lb plate, and work your way up from there. Carrying pink dumb-bells in your arms is also useful, since you can multi-task bicep curls while you run home

    Good luck!

@indeed We don’t know how much BlackRock engineers make. Gosh, only if there was an app to share TC anonymously in exchange for other information..

Get a running backpack. If you have an REI, go there and try a few on. Osprey makes some good ones.

In addition, if there’s a way to leave some stuff at work, it’s easier. Shoes, a second set of makeup, non-commute-related purse items, etc.

I second as well. I had a CamelBak from REI, but it was small, I always had a complete set of clothes at office just in case. I would take a loaner laptop if I needed one at work for meetings and not carry mine.

Thanks a lot ! Will try those ...
my only worry is running with all that stuff ... and everything in the backpack making funny sounds 😬

When trying them on, your goal should be similar to a good sports bra: nothing moves. They usually have a lot of ways to really cinch your belongings closer to your back. Breath mints are the only thing that make noise when I use mine.

Not a woman, but I used to bike to work a lot (don’t anymore due to injury) and do run regularly.
Do not carry stuff with you, leave what you can in the office (laptop, shoes, clothes etc). Running with things is uncomfortable.
Maybe drive once in a while to restock clean clothes etc.

Yeah I don’t like running with stuff either ... but I want to use the 20-30 mins of my walk from work to home into a more intensive exercise

You can buy ankle weights and still walk.

It's super weird carrying luggage while trying to run.

Keep formal clothes at office and get to shower as you reach office.

Even if work doesn’t have showers, do leave stuff at work if you have the space. You could leave your work outfits at the office Mon-Thurs evening so you can run home, then walk/transit home on Friday with all the clothes from the week.
