I get around 20 vacation days at Intel and currently negotiating with Google and FB for a job. I’ve heard that Google starts off with 15 days a year and becomes 20 days after 3 years. What about FB? Any success stories negotiating 20 days from the beginning?
Fb 21 days
fb 21 days at 11 bank holidays
I don’t think either of those companies will negotiate on this. When you get to that size, you lose flexibility in these things. That being said, FB already has a pretty generous 21 days a year + 11 company holidays.
WFH is the alternative 😎
15 days doesn't seem like a lot. Googlers, in practice does it feel like enough vacation?
Thanks for the responses. FB 21 days is awesome! I thought they were 15 too
Companies in general don’t negotiate on vacation days. You’re better off looking for a company with an open vacation policy or willing to let you take unpaid leave.
What did they ask you in FB Google ? System design ? Leetcode hard ? topics covered dp , graphs ?
Most companies don’t track vacation days as long as you’re getting work done and letting coworkers know when you’re going for a bit

I think you'll have issues negotiating vacation days. Google however offers up to a month of unpaid leave without approval so if you get higher comp to offset unpaid leave that's a good option
