Hey, I should be getting an offer from a company soon. Any advice on negotiation strategy?

After they present you with some number, don't counter offer with a lower number
Best advice so far
all about competing offers. don’t have much leverage if only 1 offer
Negotiating is about 2 things. Phrasing and timing. 1. Use the phrase "double it" 2. Say it *after* they give you their numbers.
3. Go to 1
Never ever give first number. Ever.
Don't give first number. Start negotiating on designation. And remember no1 recall offer for negotiation
So if I raise the offer for X or Y reason, they are not going to say: "Nope. And actually... give me the offer back and bye!"
They would say this is max they can offer in worst case.
