Negotiation strategy: how to use other offers/interviews as a leverage?
I'm going to receive a offer from FAANG next week and need your help for the upcoming negotiation phase. Is it relevant to mention other companies I'm interviewing with even if I didn't get an offer from them yet? One of them is FAANG too, the other not but still relatively big. If yes, how advanced should be the interview process with said companies to be considered in the negotiation? Also, got already a offer from a non-FAANG company. BC is ok but I guess all RSUs will be considered paper money by FAANG. Or do you think it's still worth mentioning the whole package of the competiting offer to FAANG during negotiation?
I received a verbal offer from a non-FAANG company and used that to expedite my Google interview process. Finally, when the competing non-FAANG offer turned into a written one, Google exceeded it, which placed me at the top of my expected TC range for Google. 8 YOE, 220k TC + 40k signing bonus/relo for a senior financial analyst
Did you share the written offer with Google? If yes, did you ask consent from the other company to share their offer externally?

That was a good pizzle to read! Answering with what I could comprehend. You first let the offer come and then decide which offer you want to Trump to the HR. Obviously if any of your current offers is greater than the quote only then you will tell. And you may show even if it is paper money. It's up to them if they increase or not. You don't actually have much options here btw. And yeah please don't mention you are interviewing somewhere else after you get an offer. I don't think it will help. At best they might even hold the offer.

So you would not recommend to mention the other interviews post offer. What if I send a quick update to my recruiter before receiving the offer? Will it help leverage it in that case or would you also not recommend this approach?
