I am about to go into an Amazon interview. This is the first time I have done an full day interview. I feel like I am going to go up to the white board and forget everything I ever learned.
Confidence is key... if you can hold your nerves and speak confidently it makes a world of difference...
It’s gonna be easy, it’s amazon
Just recently did this , just remember the leadership principles and you’re fine
Got them printed out with stories write down for each of them.
Did recently. Its not hard :)
Good luck. I hope you can make an exit from the shit storm of defense.
You’ve got this! Show them what you know, try your hardest and be confident.
Relax. Practice practice and practice. Then just let the cruise control take over in the sense that you’re not psyching yourself out and trying to compensate right then and there.
Good Leadership principles answers are often harder to come up with than tech expertise. I’d focus on those if you’ve been hitting tech competence markers in your current role.
Tips; Pause before answers. Count to 3. Repeat question back if need be. Use STAR
I know it is hard. I’d say all the best and give your best shot. Worst case - you’ll not get the offer. But try as much as you can gain/ learn from the interviews. These are smart engineers who have gone through similar process. Treat this interviews like an experience and not like an end goal. (I understand people are in diff situations in life and know how much these jobs can mean for them but I’d still say be calm and treat it like an experience of learning.) Also, try building up a nice rapport with the HR/ manager so it’s easy to get a re-interview.
Definitely will try to keep it in perspective.
Nicely said.
