How difficult is it to get 52 week parental leave approved in Netflix? How long should 1 be employed full-time with Netflix before taking the parental leave? How hard is it to get approved? Can your manager stop it if he doesn't want you to be gone? PS: Will they downplay it, because Netflix is one of the company that does not disclose how many people went on parental leave in last 12 months and they also have most generous policy. Thanks in advance fellow blinders.
12 months actually, yes Netflix has 52 week paid parental leave policy.
Can't seem to find this movie title in Netflix
“because Netflix is one of the company that does not disclose how many people went on parental leave in last 12 months” ^ Not true, it’s quite the opposite, Netflix is probably one of the most transparent companies to its employees, we can see how long people are taking in each org/team. You should work with your manager to figure it out and be responsible for it. If all you think about is how to take advantage of the company, that shows poor judgment and you won’t last long.
Well that is the point, as like even someone else was saying if 52weeks is standard policy, why promote a culture to make someone look like a slacker if they use the policy.
Also @netube What I meant was that Netflix does not publicly disclose the data, not that it have to but many companies do to show that they encourage their employees to use that leave.
Further Netflix showing only the employees how long people are taking off in each org and team, kind off promotes to not really take 52 weeks off.... employee peer pressure.... I know that a very few people take off anywhere close to full 52 weeks. My point is that if company policy reads 52weeks, why would someone not use it unless there is a culture in the company that makes them look like slackers in the eyes of other employees. Great master minds at Netflix who designed this, regardless it is the best and most generous policy in the entire industry. Definitely won't be sustianible if more people start taking closer to 52 weeks, especially which will happen when grows bigger in terms of #of employees. That is the reason why other top tech don't give 52week off
Fair enough, I can see it being a little vague.. This has changed recently, I don’t think 52 weeks is being mentioned anymore.
Netflix also has unlimited vacation policy - besides the parental leave. It’s up to the individuals on using the correct judgement. Freedom & Responsibility culture!
They removed the 52 weeks from the policy. Very few people took that much.

How hard is it to get the standard maternity leave is what you are asking?
Yes, but in Netflix that is 52weeks according to my sources
Yea... so why would you need to ask or negotiate the standard...
