I am traditional Network Engineer working on Cisco, Juniper gears including firewalls and load balancers and recently started doing scripting as well. I got interviewed at Amazon on site and was amazed to see work that AWS is doing. Can you elaborate on what kind of business problem you are working on. Also is it worth to move to Amazon in network engineering.

I’m Sooo Happy about Biden signing TikTok ban bill today!!
Every business problem. Amazon wants to be in everything so if it's a tech problem, then you bet there's at least a pizza team working on it. Traditional network engineering practiced at the telcos (been there) is seen as a base/entry skill for any networking team. So if you are just now learning to use scripts and automation then get ready to have your world rocked. Amazon is truly a slave driver but if you have the stomach you can learn like crazy.
What salaries do network engineer generally get at amazon? I am working in midwest for 112K as lead network with 10 % bonus- no RSU’s . Is it worth moving to seattle and is there any buffer period when an engineer comes onboard so he/she can learn on the job related to automation. Also what is the wlb ? Been at midwest , my job is nothing crazy but i want to grow my career. But moving family with one kid seems like a crazy feat considering housing prices in seattle
112k is below base for an L4. If you're lead and land an l6 your TC can go above 300k from what I've seen here on blind (I'm not in networking anymore). There's no such thing as wlb (one of the reasons I left networking). Time to learn will depend on the team you join but it will be a rush for sure.
