Hi, After graduation, Being a firmware engineer for last 4 years what's the chance of getting into Machine Learning and AI job? Though thankful, My current job is not exciting to me anymore. I want change my job. I have a little knowledge on AI and ML by attending training. Please advise
AI is going places. Get familiar and when people actually begin to implement it in a standardized manner you'll be ahead of the curve
I would suggest looking into a program like Metis.
Question is how to get foot in? You can read all you want about Algorithms, theory and functions. However, in order to get a job you will need a lot of hands on experience with data set, python, R or any other ML languahe. I am bored of my job too and learning ML. In all honesty it is very interesting field but I skeptical if I will be able to land a job without having experience
Thanks for the reply. Yes you got my question right. I feel it as a chicken or egg problem. As you said, if we need experience to land in AI - ML job, how can I get a work experience without being in a job. I am also learning ML. But don't know how to materialize it. Anyone else have a a valuable advise
My long term plan is: learn n master the basic of ML. Do couple of real world proejcts. Plenty out there on GIT that u can pick. Be expert in one language I m doing Python, I will not go crazy on trying to learn every other language that's out there. Save 6 month of mertgae n expenses. Then look for entry level job and once in I am sure we can leverage our 15 year IT industry experience. I am look at 12 -18 months before I start looking for job in ML. Do you think it will be long?

Why do you chase prestige?
The next big thing ML and AI
I think it is overhyped in the industry. A lot of the teams I have been seen claim they are doing AI/ML stuff just to look cool
It's not. Look how cool is Alexa, or IOT or self driven cars.
