New Grad Offer Capital One
Got offered 120k TC for new grad data scientist, is this around the standard offer ? I couldn’t find too much comp info online for the role. Edit: Not TDP, professional hire as data scientist.
DC area? Reddit has some info in their salary sharing threads for c1 if you're interested. This seems ballpark from what I can remember. I'd try for 140k if in DC and take 130k+ I'd go for 170k min in cali

So the info is for software devs. The most recent one was 102k with like a 27k sign on. So your offer looks solid to me depending on the location. I'd still try to negotiate obviously. There was also a 100k offer in Richmond for swe. Looking at the average rents, in Arlington vs Richmond, confirms your offer is solid.

Not true. While location plays a role, I Know Data scientists getting anywhere between 150-200k.

Nice job, OP. Heads up, performance management is super political. If you want to be promoted, it'll require a good manager that's not a wimp and willing to fight for you. Otherwise, read up on office politics or settle where you are.
