I am a new grad and am currently in the middle of my interviews with Palantir, Google and Facebook. (have an onsite for one.. on phone screen for the others)

I was wondering how these positions stack up to each other.. I am quite confused and the more I try to research, the more confused I get..

I would really appreciate some insight! Thanks a ton!

Google and Facebook are kind of in one camp, Palantir is the other. Palantir is maybe a fit if you want to have more freedom/less structure, and be given more responsibility quickly. They're working through organizational pain right now, so if you prefer structure they are probably not a great choice.

Facebook/Google will likely accelerate your earning and on-paper career faster.

oh got it! Thanks a lot for the insight.
I was also a bit concerned about the current state of affairs at Palantir.. However, the only drawback I have regarding joining Facebook / Google is that its in Singapore.. Not quite sure how that compares to living in London..

I would personally prefer Singapore. That aside - one thing to note is that London can be pricey, and Palantir doesn't (or didn't) do adjustment to salary based on cost of living. You may want to confirm this with a current Palantir employee though.

Sorry, but I think I didnt understand.. If Palantir doesn't do adjustment to Salary based on CoL, then thats a good thing right.. (cause it means salary will be same as that of the Bay Area Employees...)

Palantir pays more than F and G in London. Salaries for new grads in Singapore suck, even with low tax. Remember that there is a Singaporean Dollar which is worth nothing.

What others have said is true, there's gonna be less structure but more responsibility at Pal. It pays engineers in London as well as those in the US, meaning that you'll get more than basically any other tech position outside a couple of small trading firms.

The distance between phone screen and offer is the distance between Singapore and London. So worry after you get offers.

Yeah I also had many onsite with big name like FANG and unicorns. But conversion from onsite to offer is only 15 percent. Phone screen is even worse.

EDIT: I was also wondering how easy it is to later transition to the Bay Area in both scenarios..

  • Singapore is a really cool city, definitely an international city, like London.
