Posting on behalf of a friend. He is graduating soon and has 2 offers: 1. Company: Nutanix Location: San Jose Compensation: 130k base + 1600 units RSU No sign-on bonus 2. Company: Amazon Location: Seattle Compensation: 112k base + (36k + 22k) sign-on bonus + 80k RSU Already assigned a team in Nutanix. Amazon team will be assigned after accepting the offer. Which company would be better for a new grad?
So, a major benefit to consider for NTNX not mentioned here is the 100% employer paid healthcare for employee and all dependents. It's a few thousand dollar 'bonus' annually for a single person, but can cross $10,000 with a family. ESPP is also stellar at 15% with a look back IIRC. Having said that though, rumors are pretty prevalent in the industry that NTNX works their people hard and many tend to get burned out quickly. Not sure about Amazon. Don't know anyone who has worked there.
U don’t rly need healthcare at that age tho Amzn the way to go
I agree with @zfdk75. I hardly used my healthcare while working at Nutanix.
Amazon. The brand name and cost of living difference put this one over the top
Amazon. Given the scale you'll learn a lot more here. Better name recognition too.
Team assignment is very weird in Amazon. Is it possible switch teams internally within 6 months?
Nutanix. They respect and value humans. Less politics comparatively. Unlimited PTO . Flexible work life
No politics? The org breeds on politics right from DP. The no of incompetent ppl in the leadership is a testimony to the companies politics!
“Unlimited PTO” in theory; take a few weeks off and see what impact that has on your career 😉
And pretty paltry stock refreshes at Nutanix
Nutnaix definitely
@Nooob As this is your friends first job. I would recommend going with Amazon. Just because having big companies on resume will help you land in other FAANG companies. Recruiters offer higher packages. So you are setting your friend for success. Amazon stock is growing crazy. NTNX stock might drop to single digits anytime. NTNX is almost done in market it might grow a little but not at a pace of Amazon.
What were nutanix interview questions?
