I accepted a new position but however after accepting the offer, hiring manager informed me I need to work on devops which isn't my area of expertise. I doub't if he knows that it isn't my area because he is non-technical. Should I let him know that I either need training or should be given enough time to learn the new technologies before joining the position? If so how to approach this? I don't want to join a new position only to get fired for bad performance. Any advice about approaching this will be greatly appreciated.
I would definitely recommend tell ur HM that’s not ur area of expertise and inform him that you need some training.

Because of h1b stuff. If I loose the job then the next day I need to leave the country. Keeping my house, car and all the properties in here itself.
I can easily learn new stuff but devops I believe it's all about shell scripting, unix and stuff that I dont have much experience on. And so, need time to pick this up.
