It seems EB-2 and EB-3 people that have been waiting in line for years will be kicked out before they can acquire residency through the new system. https://www.forbes.com/sites/stuartanderson/2019/05/16/trump-immigration-plan-may-throw-4-million-people-off-immigrant-waiting-lists/amp/
My former manager would lose his shit if he got bumped after waiting for 15 years
Tech companies would too, many of those waiting in line are senior engineers or managers now.
How is this a bad thing? If they score high, they no longer have to wait. Seniors and managers have more skills, wage so they should score higher too than some newbie.
Nothing's gonna happen.. Chill
Said the Hilary supporters
A lot of work for USCIS. A lot of work overload and more money for immigration-law firms. I don't know if the new system will be good or bad for "skilled" people. But the transition from old to the new system will have collateral damage.
Best to ignore this noise until Congress moves to vote on a bill.
Pending Congress approval. Next year is election. So chill
Trump: Here's the proposal. Vote for me and after I get elected, I will pass the bill ASAP.
That is what Obama dada said in 2008
Fixed-pie mindset, they use old tatic to reduce legal family-based immigration by branding as “merit-based”.
Dude, stop posting this. It's not going to happen. As per Nancy Pelosi, the word "merit" as a condescending word.
Okay... Do you think a subset of the plan would become an executive order that can at least influence how uscis processes applications?
@tenure I hope not, not because I don’t want merit based immigration but I don’t like executive orders in general. I didn’t like it when Obama did it and I don’t like when Trump does it. If something is done by EO, it’s easily overturned by the next administration and I want merit based immigration to be a lasting policy. That being said, I’m wishing you the best and keeping my fingers crossed for merit based decisioning.
