Hi everyone! Similar to many others here, I often times wished for better salary tools / data so I could more effectively advocate for myself during comp reviews. So I decided to build something. I built a new salary comparison platform to help employees better understand company salary ranges and pay bands. The product is still in its early stages so it could definitely benefit from more salary data submissions! There’s also already salary data there that some should find useful. I’d be eternally grateful for any feedback too! Feel free to share it with others who might find it helpful, especially with your co-workers and others in the same role. Here it is: https://www.projectsnowglobe.com Let me know what you all think!
Snowglobe is a platform for peers to anonymously share and compare salary data with. Should be changed to: Snowglobe is a platform for peers to anonymously share and compare salary data.
I read it as projects nowglobe...
Why do you need my email to show the total comp? I can already see level based comp in levels.fyi. what additional value does this tool provide? To me it is none, AND i need to give it my email. No thanks.
Thanks for the feedback! Levels.fyi is great at what it does! For now, the platform requires an account to prevent bot submissions and to keep the quality of the data high. You don't even have to use your real email address!
In response to "Fuck any site which asks for email/login without any reason behind it (like for just browsing the data here)....Fuck Snowglobe Login for submissions is fine. But why the fuck you need it for just viewing the data ?" Thanks for the feedback, I can definitely see how signing up to view the data could be a hassle. Snowglobe is a young platform, so having a community of people who also believe in the values we believe in, and having a platform with high quality data, is especially important (arguably, it's always important). For those reasons, we require signing up to submit data and view our existing data, use our features, etc. At least for now! You also don't have to use your real email address to sign up.
Glassdoor seems too focused on just salary. It would be nice to have a standard way of anonymously sharing detailed breakdown of RSUs including vesting schedule and how much of TC came from stock appreciation.
Thank you for the feedback! Anonymously breaking down RSU vesting schedule and seeing how much of TC comes from stock appreciate could definitely be helpful.

Will it weigh data based on relevancy? For example, if User A says in their role as an SDE at ABC Company they are making $250k and then four years later User W in the same role with similar experience at the same company makes $320k, will the tool skew data more towards User W's input since it's more relevant at that time?
Good question. Yes! Once there are enough salary submissions for a role and after a certain "submission age", new submissions will start to replace the oldest submissions in the salary data that's currently presented. We'll also then have the data to show how compensation has changed for that role and/or at that company over the years.
This is great. Now instead of TC/GTFO we can have like “meaningful discussion or snowglobe.” MD/SG.
Hello! I built Snowglobe to collect and show useful data. Some of the other tools out there don’t have and/or don’t show data in a way that’s useful to what matters: knowing how companies structure their salary ranges so that you can go into a review with concrete information. For now, the platform requires an account to prevent bot submissions and to keep the quality of the data high.
