New to Bay Area - Need advice about housing

I will be working at the Mountain View office. I would rather live closer to work and pay a little more than far away. Can I get a decent 2 bedroom apartment within $3,500? Also, I do not care about partying or about school districts. Do any of you have any suggestions for any property group/communities that I can take a look at? I am searching on craigslist, apartments.com and zillow. Is there any other portal that I might be missing? I am okay with apartments/townhomes/condos as long as there are 2 bedrooms and 2+ bathrooms. Edit: where do people who work at mountain view stay? TC 385k Stock 220k Bonus 30k Base 135k New Grad

I'm in the hunt too, I had come across this listing yesterday but don't need 2 bedrooms: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/550-N-Fair-Oaks-Ave-APT-12-Sunnyvale-CA-94085/2099382987_zpid/

Rent directly from landlord instead of apartment community if u want a lower rent. Zillow is your best bet for rent from landlords.

What is your take home after taxes per month? 3500 seems like youโ€™d not have much left after that. Add utilities and youโ€™ll be closer to 4k

I just got a 2 bedroom apartment in San Bruno for $2900! So totally doable but you need to be patient and check daily. I found my place via Craigslist and super happy with it.
