New to Bay Area - Need advice about housing

I will be working at the Mountain View office. I would rather live closer to work and pay a little more than far away. Can I get a decent 2 bedroom apartment within $3,500? Also, I do not care about partying or about school districts. Do any of you have any suggestions for any property group/communities that I can take a look at?
I am searching on craigslist, apartments.com and zillow. Is there any other portal that I might be missing?
I am okay with apartments/townhomes/condos as long as there are 2 bedrooms and 2+ bathrooms.

Edit: where do people who work at mountain view stay?

What is your take home after taxes per month? 3500 seems like you’d not have much left after that. Add utilities and you’ll be closer to 4k

Rent directly from landlord instead of apartment community if u want a lower rent. Zillow is your best bet for rent from landlords.

I just got a 2 bedroom apartment in San Bruno for $2900! So totally doable but you need to be patient and check daily. I found my place via Craigslist and super happy with it.
