I have a friend when someone tells her "I think you are stupid and dumb" she, very calmly says "I am sorry you feel that way, but I think I am darn smart" I have always admired this trait of hers and successfully tried to stay calm and be thick skinned when people throw toxicity. May be not at her level, but I have made progress. BUT..... Blind changed me so much, the amount of toxicity that is here amongst the educated, money making lot. It makes me more sad than angry. So much so, I think I would be very scared to meet some of the people In here in real life. The general feeling of this app and it's population is very dark. I think I have already reiterated my thoughts in several topics as comments. I am not asking why it's the case, mere fear that the world is not getting any kinder. Edit - okay people, forget about my friend here, mere exaggerated example on saying how calm she stays without reacting; my point is totally lost! SMH

Why are people frequently telling your friend she's dumb? I don't think that's something the average person is frequently experiencing.
The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls, and tenement halls, and whispered in the Blind thread dumpster fires. An anonymous space is where all the repressed impulses of civilized society come tumbling out. In men's bathrooms, the walls are filled with "for a good time call 888-888-8888" and "grout grout grout" and general cursing. In women's bathrooms the walls are filled with secret confessions. Here is like we're hanging out in a shared public bathroom, writing on the walls, only barely communicating.

I think most people here express a little bit more than real life since 1. It's online and not in real life & 2. Because everyone is anonymous & 3. Some of these people don't have social skills & etiquette...so don't take it too seriously or personal even though there's a lot of toxic people and comments here
