I am thinking of leaving my job at Microsoft to go to Amazon. I have a non-compete clause in my contract. Do the companies really do something if the employee go to work inmediately to a competitor?
They don't care unless you are principal
Yes, be careful
If they care, how do people transfer between big companies? Do they wait for the period of time the contract says? Are the companies aware of that when they hire someone?
Non-competes are illegal in California, but legal and enforceable in Washington.
You can join competitor and work in another team which doesn't do same line of work just to satisfy the clause
Yes
Yes they do
