Non-social network engineers in Facebook?

I don't like social network, and believe it's just a waste of time, and I don't think it improves one's quality of life.

Sorry if that sounded ranting. Having said that, Facebook seems like a great place to work at. Would like to know if there's anything that's not social network related.

I heard that you can't escape from being influenced by social network. Is that true?

I would go as far to say that more than half of engineers don’t really work on anything social related. Facebook owns its stack from top to very bottom, there’s a lot to do to keep the site running efficiently (infra) and a lot of products that are not necessarily related social related.

You can join infra related teams or any teams that don't touch product

I love the irony of posting such a question in a social media platform. Even if blind is somewhat anonymous it's still social media.

Is your question you don't want to work on product teams or you want to make sure even infra work you do won't be used by any of the facebook product teams?
