I had an onsite interview at Nordstrom on Monday. Can someone give an idea how long it takes for hiring decision? #nordstrom
Usually with in a week, isn’t it?
Nope, Nordstrom takes forever for everything. Forget interviews, internal decision they keep churning on.... Good luck on your journey with them.
A week sounds about right
Yep, a week max for a positive result
Thank you so much guys. Gave my interview last Monday and I think it went fine. They are interviewing other candidates aa well I suppose. Fingers crossed.
Hey guys. I emailed recruiter last Wednesday (just a thank you mail). She told me that they are wrapping up interviews and will tell me the result in near future. Its Monday now. Does that mean I didn't get through.
Man, have a walk, get fresh air.
Not getting the job is the ideal outcome. Nordstrom is a disaster. I'd recommend working literally anywhere else.
Yup .. stay away from nordstrom for a year or so ... big changes coming ..
Such as????
I joined Nordstrom after Amazon and yeah there was shitty leadership but my team rallied against that and delivered a solid product. I arguably learned more in my year at Nordstrom than 3 years at Amazon because Nordstrom was using more modern tooling and have you more hands on work. I've since moved on to a company that pays more. Would I join again today? Maybe not, but I'd rather join a random team there than a random team at Amazon where wlb is spotty and EQ is lower. It doesn't really matter anyway because it's Seattle so every non Amazon company is half ex Amazon and the other is half ex Microsoft. Not even exaggerating since this has been the makeup of every team since I left Amazon.
those are all fair points but the current leadership at Nordstrom is worse than anything Amazon or msft have ever had. People who ran screaming to Nordstrom from Amazon and Msft are leaving in droves even happily returning to those places because Nordstrom is now worse than either. There's a chance you'll get a manager who can marginally protect you from the trash people at the top but at some point the shit leaks through.
