Dude tourist visa is the best. With OCI, you go through the brain damage to file all those documents only to have the damn thing expire every few years. For a baby / toddler tourist visa is as good as an OCI card unless you plan on sending your kid to India for 1-2 years

Why don't you get your newborn an Indian passport instead?

Then how about stay in USA does they need Visa ?

No, they can get a US passport too

OCI pays well even for newborns. But the baby might have to relocate to Seattle. Also, there is attrition almost every here. Not sure if a newborn can survive multiple rounds of layoffs.

Infant/Toddler US passport is valid for 5 yrs and you need to redo OCI again at that point. Process is cumbersome and they ask for lots of things except blood. I did the OCI few months back for my Kid and myself. Painful and felt good after accomplishing this project. Applied at SFO. Be calm and say wooooosaaaa when Indian government website does not work. :)

So getting OCI after 5 years is the better option?

Depends. https://www.in.ckgs.us/oci/how-to-apply
