I finished my on-site at Seattle Oracle office for a position in OCI around the end of May, and the HM wanted to move forward with an offer for IC4 level. However it has been more than a week now and I haven't got even the verbal offer with numbers. The HM has been communicative and he mentioned the "verbal offer is still pending approval". From what I read on blind that written offer approval in OCI can take up to few months, but is this normal for verbal offer as well? Does any insider have more insight about this? Currently I'm in AWS as L5 SDE, YOE 9, TC 220k. thanks,
Everything takes forever at Oracle.
Atleast 2-3 months before offer is approved
I got my verbal offer early Jan and still waiting for official.. won't join even if I get one.
Odds of a verbal offer actually happening and becoming a real offer are 65-80%.
won't be a surprise, I will continue with my job hunting.
Yeah, the only way to turn a verbal into a written in under 5 days is to come back with 1-2 written ones and a 48-hour deadline, sorry man.
Not really at OCI, but I can validate what others have mentioned in this post with another company. Got a 'semi-partial' verbal offer along the lines of "We like you and would like to proceed further" in January, and only got the final written offer in May, so yes please keep interviewing until you get a written offer (intact until you have joined the new company)
Don’t join OCI - you’ll thank me later
Offer numbers?
@qLmg58 whatever happened to the verbal offer? Is there any news on if they’ve got a hiring freeze or whatnot?
Busy time with reviews, reorgs etc. hang in there
thanks, at least the HM has been responsive so maybe a HR thing?
