AWS has become so big that it's scary. Feels like 5 different products doing the same thing, just slightly tweaked for some use case and named in the most nonsense way possible. AWS should consolidate its products before it becomes a clusterfuck.

It’s already a clusterfuck. I attend the AWS Next presentations and it’s always the same questions: this product you’re showing is cool, but it seems really similar to this other AWS product. Why does this have to be a different product from this existing, very similar product?

He has built the OCI engineering team similar to Jason Zander at Microsoft or Urs at Google

Recruiting 1,000s of top engineers is extremely difficult and rarely performed successfully

The tldr here is we all should have responded to that OCI recruiter back then. It is also this - no point in joining OCI now.

Hardly surprising. Oracle is getting whacked in the cloud wars but still the board of directors prefer to pay Larry an obscene amount of money. It's disgusting actually. So it comes as no surprise that there are whole bunch of other high titled people that are being paid in millions. It all trickles down.

Neither will they beat Amazon in the cloud war, nor will they own DB space which is already being offered as a service on cloud 😁
