Odd Google Phone Interview Experience?
Did my Google phone interview last week for Fall SWE Internship. First phone interview was very odd and the interviewer asked about things such as rate limiters, locks and multi threading. Then asked how I would implement a rate limiter on an API call and other similar questions. Needless to say I was unprepared for this type of line of questioning, has anyone had a similar, odd experience? Where should I go from here if my second interview was a traditional Data Structures and Algorithms interview that went decently well?

Actual work related questions branded as weird compared to non useful leetcode questions.
I don’t know, but those sound like standard sorts of interview questions. Are you just upset because they weren’t in the list on leetcode or something?
Lmaoo I'm in first year so we haven't learned anything like that before, just wondering if it's normal as he only asked those types of questions.
As in you just finished your freshman year?
