Offer at Cisco
The majority of my experience has been in another state. Can you guys help me figure out if this is a fair offer? Software engineer III, 135k base, 11% annual bonus. Cisco San Jose location. 5 years experience.
I would expect a base of at least 150K for the SF Bay with your experience. Bonus of 11% is low. Should be at least 15%. No RSUs is cheap of Cisco. Get a competing offer from another company and then play it out with Cisco
No, it is Cisco. Base is average for their SWE III. Source: was a SWE III myself.
Cisco does not give RSU to junior engineers. SWE III is junior. They will not change their policy just because someone has competing offer. Please note that Cisco does not intend to hire top tier engineers who are capable of getting offers from FANG companies. This is the reason they can get away with below average comp.

SW 3 for 5 yrs exp? Ask the HR what grade u are at.. if G8 sounds right.. G10 it's lower end
