Offer at Disney. Are they lowballing me?

I was offered 100k salary with 20k bonus doled out in 5k increments over 4 years at Disney in Seattle. I have 1 1/2 years experience. Should I quit, enjoy my time off, and look for more gainful employment or is this what I can expect from most places?

That's a low offer

Oracle mooooo Aug 18, 2017

Well it really comes down to how good you are and if you can get into Amazon or ms.

Oracle mooooo Aug 18, 2017

Disney the work like balance is good but the salaries are not

Microsoft ESnX24 Aug 18, 2017

Stay the hell away from Disney. Unless of course you want your soul, career and life to die

Disney dane OP Aug 18, 2017

Why do you say this?

Microsoft ESnX24 Aug 18, 2017

Old tech, lousy leadership. Know too many people who have left there.

Piece of shit offer from a very successful company. Fuck them

LinkedIn tydrjlgrz Aug 18, 2017

Maybe that is why they're successful... Wasting money isn't a positive...

100k is not a piece of shit offer. really depends on the position . and with only 1 year of experience it's not unreasonable

Nordstrom mtbMb235 Aug 18, 2017

For only 1.5 yrs exp that doesn't sound unreasonable. They pay better than Nintendo. The perks of working there are good if you're into the brand.

Nordstrom xeDk06 Aug 18, 2017

Agree with above. For only 1.5 yrs experience, that sounds reasonable.

Expedia VagrantEX Aug 18, 2017

1.5 years of experience will get u 115-120k base, 150-160k total comp offer from Amazon or Microsoft easily, if you can get offers from them.

Manhattan Associates NHcC04 Aug 19, 2017

1.5 yrs and 120k is good. Depends on what job ur doing for them. Get in learn something and jump after 2 years

The "bonus doled out over 4 years" is Long Term Incentive (LTI). If the position is LTI eligible every year, that piles up each year - the "golden handcuff" model. If the position is LTI eligible every year, it'll be 5k after 1st year, 10k after next, etc. going to 20k / year as it rolls each year after 4 years. Still not what FB/AMZN/etc. offers, but you get to have a life. Whether that's worth it is up to you.
