Offer

Friend of mine got an initial lowball offer from Autodesk for PM with 120K base, No RSU, 10% bonus. He has 6+ YOE. This one is in san rafael, ca. Based on his initial talk, Base/Signon/RSU/Bonus are negotiable. How would you rate this offer? Any suggestions?

I rate this 1/5 because this person has 6 YOE and is getting paid like entry level SWE

Heโ€™s not SWE but a PM hired to poke the SWE everyday until they bleed all the code.

Autodesk in San Rafael is mostly a coasting place.

I find it amusing when PMโ€™s compare themselves with Software Engineers/Hardware engineers and expect the same TC numbers

I agree with you if this is their final offer. Since many companies expects candidates will negotiate, I suspect they might have started with the low-ball one. Anyways what should be his counter offer look like in terms of overall TC? What are the current TCs for TPMs in Bay area?

Autodesk is not a pay master. Itโ€™s a good brand name which you can use as a launchpad for better opportunities. Donโ€™t expect them to go up like the numbers that you see on Blind. You can ask RSU around 50-60k overall (itโ€™s 3 years vesting here) & max 10% more on base. Bonus is fixed.
