    With your educational background you could maybe get some more Base. But all around that’s a lovely offer!

      Disagree. Base is slightly above newly promoted l4. Not worth haggling there. Rsu on the other hand could go up by 100k

      @djrjrrnf really ? I thought I did a reasonable negotiating on this

      It’s absolute top of band for L3, 300k RSU would put you squarely in L4 territory.

    For L3 at Google, that is an extremely high base, usually that would be an L4 base actually

      I beg to differ. I am not trying to show off but it does make a difference. At least so says almost every job offer call I get on LinkedIn. Thanks!

    In terms of total comp, it’s top of band for L3, bottom of band for L4.

    Which offer did you negotiate off of? Apple and Amazon pay lower typically I thought.

      Your Apple offer is very good too; I haven’t seen anyone with similar offer having MS + 2 years exp. You must have done exceedingly well in both of your interviews.

      Thank you. Apple asked me to recommend the numbers before they made an offer. I chose these and they readily agreed to it. Got lucky I guess :)

      Median time from L3 to L4 is 1.75 years per internal stats. Note that includes college hires as well as people like yourself. L4 after two years would be typical internally but perhaps not from the outside. It would depend on experience and interview performance.

    You can push the RSU. I actually care less about base and more about total comp which is 215k in your case. You can try to push it to 240-250 with your other offers.

      Does Google offer refresher stocks every year along with the year end bonus ? That factor perhaps helps in negotiating
      Jan 25, 2018
    • Google FredyFox
      There was some change where you don't get automatic refresh in first year if you just meet expectation. It will be based on your manager discretion. Try to get the best offer. Don't worry about refresh and other stuffs.

      Every year. But Apple refreshers are good too so mentioning it may not help. Also, shoutout to CMU (I did undergrad SCS)!
